Web site realisation has become one of Arctur's core activities during the last years. We have developed our own work methodology, based on project management, and on giudelines of ISO9001:2000 quality assurance standard. Our methodology has been successfuly implemented in the PVD application for project management support. Trough PVD application we facilitated the transfer of our know-how to other engineering SME's.
We strive to equilibrate our efforts and services for each web site we project: Arctur provides complete service from the graphic design viewpoint, tecnical excellence viewpoint, and contents viewpoint.
Equilibrated efforts mean that every web site Arctur works on – with possible exception of the smallest ones – engages more than just one expert: analyst-counselor works on web presence strategy, website funcionalities, and contents, graphic designer designs all the user interfaces, and – last but not least – programmer translates everything into appropriate coding. Effective teamwork is possible only with project management approach. Project is divided into number of successive and often intertwined phases; each phase enables easier control over achieved results, and project modofications if neccessary. In this way, control and quality assurance over the results of the project as a whole is much easier and more effective.
A typical project of a web site realisation includes a number of phases; depending on the size of the project, some phases are more or less stressed, and sometimes just one phase can represent a project in itself:
user requirements analysis, preparation of the project plan;
concepts preparation (navigational diagramme, graphic design, technical specifications);
web site production;
post production (activation of web site, search engines positioning, workshop for web site editors);
technical maintenance and user support for the rest of webites lifecycle.
